PRZEDSWIT. Una experiencia en profundidad o como asistir a un concierto en una mina de carbón de Silesia. An in-depth experience or how it was attending a concert at a Silesian coal mine.

Creo que en esta ocasión, aparte de los grupos que tocaron, todo tiene un vórtice alrededor del que gira la experiencia y es el realizar un concierto en las profundidades de una mina con todos los impedimentos logísticos que eso conlleva.

I believe that on this occasion, apart from the groups that played, everything has a vortex around which the experience revolves and is how to perform a concert in the depths of a mine with all the logistical constrictions that entails.

Por ello, para mi lo primero de todo es agradecer a la persona que puso todo su esfuerzo y dedicación en que esto fuera posible. Szymon Skatuła del grupo Saule fue el organizador de esta experiencia irrepetible.

But , before we go further, fI would like to thank the person who put all his effort and dedication in making this possible. Szymon Skatuła from the band Saule was the organizer of this unrepeatable experience.

 

Lo primero de todo fue llevar a la mina Guido en Zabrze, situada en la region minera de Silesia (cerca de Katowice) y, una vez allí, informarse identificarse para anotar la hora de acceso y conocer el procedimiento.

First of all was to arrive the Guido mine in Zabrze, located in the Silesian mining region (near Katowice) and, once there, to identify themselves to note the time of access and to know the procedure.

La mina Guido está actualmente en explotación pero al mismo tiempo esta preparada para recibir a los visitantes y turistas que quieran verla con recorridos guiados.

The Guido mine is currently in operation but at the same time it ‘s prepared to welcome visitors and tourists who want to take a guided tour.

Así que en un ascensor de tres niveles, accedimos al nivel 320 (situado a 320 metros de profundidad) donde hay un pequeño auditorio, un bar y diversas instalaciones para atenderlos y dar servicio.

So in a 3-level elevator, we reach the level 320 (located at 320 depth meters) where there is a small auditorium, a bar and various facilities to attend this area.

Y entramos en la parte musical

And we start now talking about the musical part

En primer lugar, era la oportunidad para Odmieniec. Un proyecto en el que el joven guitarrista Jakub Czyz creaba distintas capas superpuestas con su guitarra a la vez que se proyectaban una serie de elementos geométricos en la pared trasera del auditorio creando imágenes oníricas que encajaban perfectamente con la música.

First, it was time for Odmieniec. A project where guitarist Jakub Czyz created a multilayer music while some projections gives a soft light that suited perfectly and fix the mood.

Tras un pequeño descanso, era el momento de Saule y su descarga de música que combinaba los pasajes mas calmados y sosegados con autenticas tormentas sonoras en las que, especialmente el batería, arrasaron con todo.

After a short break, it was Saule’s moment and their music that combined the most calm passages with epic parts in which, especially the drummer, they create a wave that punch you in the face.

Un gran concierto y espero tener ocasión de volver a verles en directos en otra ocasión.

A great concert and I hope to have an opportunity to see them live somewhere else.

Para finalizar, llegaba el turno de los muchachos de Thaw de los que ya he hablado muchas veces en estas lineas. En esta ocasión tuvieron que parar sus maquinas de humo a mitad de show porque parece ser que los sistemas anti incendios estaban enloqueciendo!!!

Finally, it was time for Thaw, a band about whom I have talked about many times on this web. This time they had to stop their smoke machines in the middle of the show because it seems that the anti-fire systems went nuts!!!

Como siempre, dieron una vez más un autentico recital de su mezcla vitriólica de black metal con drone. Me apasiona su música y representan la union perfecta entre 2 géneros de los que no soy especialmente fan por separado pero en su propuesta me resulta interesantísimo.

As always, they gave once again an authentic recital of their mix of black metal with drone .I’m a great fan of their music and they blend 2 genres of which, separately, I’m not specially devoted to them but in their proposal I’m completely into it. One of my favourite bands in Poland.

 

Pero, como la logística de volver a sacar al personal de las entrañas de la tierra era mas complicada que en otras ocasiones, decidí retirarme antes de que se montase una cola excesiva.

But since the logistics of getting people back from the bowels of the earth looked complicated, I decided to go back to ground level before an excessive queue catch me underground.
