OFF FESTIVAL 2015. 3/3

El domingo como ultimo día del festival, me sentía ya con necesidad de tomármelo con un poco mas de calma. Así que comenzamos el día un poco mas tarde para llegar a ver el final de la actuación de Ukryte Zaleta Systemu, desde mi punto de vista con una música que podía recordar a la de los grupos de la movida madrileña de los 80. Un poco de punk y new age inyectado en un pop rock acelerado. Entretenido a la vez que totalmente desconocidos para mi.

Sunday as last day of the festival, I was already in need of take it a little more calm down. So I started the day a little later and manage to see the end of the performance of Ukryte Zaleta Systemu, from my point of view with a music that might remind the bands of the Madrid scene of the 80’s. A little punk and new age injected into their accelerated pop rock. Entertained band while totally unknown to me.

Tras ellos, me acerque a ver a Steve Gunn. Sus pinceladas de Rock’n’Roll mezclado con folk me hacia recordar a algunos de los grupos que pasan por el Azkena Rock Festival en Vitoria (encaja en el perfil).

Time to see Steve Gunn. His mixture of Rock’n’Roll with folk reminded me of some of the groups that go normally to the Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria (he fits the profile of bands that play there).

Uno de esos grupos que te hacen disfrutar de la sencillez de canciones bien interpretadas y con una voz aterciopelada acompañándolas. Según comentaron, el guitarra solista tuvo que utilizar guitarras prestadas puesto que las suyas no llegaron en el avión.

One of that bands that make you enjoy the simplicity of well performed songs and accompanying them with a velvety voice. As they told on the concert, the lead guitarist had to use guitars that somebody borrowed him because his did not get on the plane.

Tocaba desplazarse unos metros y ver a uno de los grupos punteros del Death Metal polaco, Decapitated. Me llamo la atención su presencia en el festival, pero ocurre como con otros estilos en este festival, en la variedad esta el gusto y siempre puedes elegir.

Only a few meters around and the proper representation of one of the leading groups of Polish Death Metal, Decapitated. I was struck by his presence at the festival, but as it is with other styles in this festival, variety is the spice and you can always choose from different types of proposals.

Para mi, el grupo es un ejemplo de saber hacer y de mantener el listón alto. Aunque puede que la gente siga recordando sus primeros discos como piedras angulares del genero y como sus mejores discos, en directo el grupo es solvente y como una apisonadora.

For me, the group is an example of “know how” and they keep their high musical standards. Although people can keep remembering his first records as cornerstones of the genre and also as their best albums, the group live is solvent and as a steamroller.

Yo debo decir que me lo pase como un enano y aproveche para ver algunos temas desde la jaula para poder tomar algo mientras los veía.

I must say that I enjoyed a lot the concert and manage to see some tracks from the cage to drink something as I watched their performance.

El siguiente grupo que me decidí a ver fue The Julie Ruin, los cuales debían haber tocado en la edición anterior pero problemas de salud lo impidieron. Y quedo claro que fue una perdida.

The next group I decided to see was The Julie Ruin, which should have played in the previous edition but health problems prevented them to perform. And it became clear that it was a loss.

Con una cantante carismática que no paraba quieta un instante y con la banda apoyando todos sus movimientos, contó con el apoyo de gran parte del publico femenino del festival. Claramente era un grupo de referencia en ese sentido.

With a charismatic singer who was dancing and moving all across the scene and with the band backing her firmly, they got the support of much of the female audience of the festival. It was clearly a reference group in that regard.

Poco a poco íbamos llegando al final del festival y las fuerzas iban acabándose. Decidí acercarme a ver a Algiers que me parecieron interesantes pero no presentaron nada no visto con anterioridad o tan secreto como para prohibir el acceso a los fotógrafos al foso. Muy mal, un punto negativo en vuestra contra. Tras unas canciones me fui a descansar un poco para ver el que, a la postre, seria mi ultimo concierto.

Gradually we were reaching the end of the festival and the strength were fading out. I decided to take a look to the proposal of Algiers which I found interesting but didn’t show anything not seen before or so secret as to forbid the access of the photographers to the pit. Too bad, a negative approach from your part. After a few songs I went to rest a bit to see that, occasionally, it would be my last concert.

Los irlandeses Girl Band que tocan noise rock (estilo que no sigo especialmente y que tantos grupos ha aportado a este festival en distintas ediciones) consiguieron juntar en su concierto a la gente que decidió oír algo distinto que a Patti Smith en el escenario principal.

The Irish Girl Band playing rock noise (style that I don’t follow especially but many groups has give to this festival in different editions) got together in their concert the people who decided to hear something other than Patti Smith on the Main stage.

Chicos jóvenes con ganas y con ímpetu que tocaban sacando sonidos distintos a lo habitual y que soltaron mucha rabia acumulada. Me dejaron con buen sabor de boca.

Young boys with ambition and energy that played in a different way than usual and sounded quite different released much accumulated anger. I was left with a good taste.

En mi camino de salida del festival en la que seria la ultima vez por este año puede llegar a oír retazo de Gloria cantada por Patti Smith y pensé que era el mejor momento de partir.

On my way out of the festival I manage to hear part of Gloria sung by Patti Smith and after that I thought it was the best time to leave.

En resumen, una edición de aniversario para recordar. El festival sigue siendo de los mejores organizados de los que he estado en Polonia y con un cartel muy ambicioso, con capacidad para mucha mas gente de la que hubo pero que al mismo tiempo hace muy cómodo el estar allí.

In short, an anniversary edition to remember. The festival remains one of the better organized I’ve been in Poland and with more ambitious line-up, with capacity for many more people than it was but at the same time making very comfortable to be there.

Sigo en mis trece: es un festival de gran categoría y que espero que siga creciendo.

I keep saying: it’s a great festival and I hope it continues growing.
